MIA visitor with her favourite piece.

Jennifer M., a MIA visitor, with “Kudlik Spirit” (2007) by David Ruben Piqtoukun (1950-), Jackson’s Point, stone and charcoal, Private Collection.

Where are you from?

I’m originally from Toronto, but now I live in Anchorage, Alaska.

What brings you to MIA? Is this your first visit?

I am here to visit with the curator.

Why is this your favourite piece in the collection?

This piece is instantly unique, eye catching and powerful. It’s almost as if the ancestors are coming out of the seal oil lamp. The artist has chosen beautiful colours as well.
