MIA visitor Cori S. with "Caribou Shaman" by Peter Assivaaryuk (1914-d), Qamanittuaq (Baker Lake), caribou antler, Private collection

Where are you from?

New Zealand

What brings you to MIA? Is this your first visit?

I love the art and culture of the aboriginal peoples.

Why is this your favourite piece in the collection?

I really liked the “Caribou Shaman” because he looks both welcoming, whimsical and spirit-imploring.
