Playing Favourites is a running series featuring MIA visitors, staff and volunteers with their favorite objects in our collection.  Playing Favourites is open to every person at MIA, so please let us know if you’d like to participate the next time you visit.

Kevin S, MIA Visitor, with Josiah Nuilialik (1928-2205), Qamani’tuaq (Baker Lake) “Caribou/Sedna Transformation”, c. 1990s, Stone and antler, Private Collection on Loan to MIA

Where are you from?

Toronto

What brings you to MIA? Is this your first visit?

I was visiting to see the new exhibition on printmaking. I’ve been here several times already.

Why is this your favourite piece in the collection?

Because it’s cute and looks like it’s smiling when you look at it very closely.
